Anonymous asked: what do you want to do for a living?
I guess I’ve never really answered this on here. For those of you who didn’t know, I want to be a writer. More specifically, I want to be a fiction writer. Novels, short stories, flash fiction, poetry, that sort of stuff. Writing is one of the few areas in which I’ve ever felt somewhat gifted. I suppose the natural irony in it is that I can barely communicate on a basic human level while in person, but I can sit down with a pen and paper and write for hours.
While writing, you’re in complete control of every aspect of the narrative. Every time you write, you create a new world with its own quirks and uniquities. I write for the illusion of control.
Anyway, I’ll have my Master’s degree in Writing Arts in 3 years. Even with a Master’s, the chances of getting a job with a Writing Arts degree are about as likely as finding an anorexic girl who swallows. So, I’ll be depending on my ability to write something worthwhile before then.
I want to travel the world and write.
